The Dolphins' defense stood tall in this victory that left them as the only unbeaten team in the NFL. The defense sacked Vikings quarterback Fran Tarkenton five times, intercepted three passes and limited Minnesota's offense to 109 yards passing. Trailing 14-6 in the fourth quarter, the Dolphins rallied. First Garo Yepremian kicked a 51-yard field goal, the longest of his career at the time. Tight end Jim Mandich completed the comeback with a 3-yard touchdown reception from Bob Griese with 1:28 left. "We're the No-Name Defense, and we're proud of it," Nick Buoniconti said. "We love it that way. We don't want a nickname. I hope we never get one."
